Description​

The GrowSmart Leaf meassures the leaf temperature of your plants, which allows you to calculate the vapor pressure deficit (VPD) of your plants.

As the VPD calculation also requires air temperature, relative humidity and air pressure values, the GrowSmart Air is also required.

Or in other words: GrowSmart Leaf is the addon to the GrowSmart Air to enabled VPD calculation.

  • 1 * MLX90614ESF-DCI Non-Contact Temperature Sensor [GY-906-DCI] (~$25)
  • 2 * female 4-pin header
  • 1 * male 90° 4-pin header (with the bend on the long leg)
  • 2 * M3x16 socket head bolt
  • 2 * M3x5x4 heat set insert
  • 1 * SparkFun RJ45 Breakout Board (BOB-00719: ~$1) and RJ45 Jack (PRT-00643: ~$2) - not the MagJack version
  • 1 * 8-pin female header
  • 1 * male 8-pin header

Assembly​

This is one of the easier components to assemble, as you only need to crimp a cable for the pin header connection and melt the heat set inserts into the lower half of the case.
